Define the term overkill…

Road sign overkill

They closed one lane here. ONE Lane. A lane that ends in a merge 50 feet up the road. This is so they can add one more lane going up to the new UCI parking structure. There you have it…
I’ve seen runways with less signage.

papers national IDThis will be voted on 5/10/2005, call your senators!
Here’s what California Senator Dianne Feinstein said:

I believe that the Federal government should have the ability to issue standards that all state-issued driver’s licenses and identification documents should meet. The issue is how should this be done, phased in and paid for. And I think that the Senate needs to examine these issues and help ensure it is not an unfunded mandate on the states.

Finally, I also am a strong supporter of Operation Gatekeeper and completion of the border fence, which is one of the bill’s provisions.

Now that we live in Communist China, might as well finish the great wall. /sarcasm

Amazon index still broken: Sponge moves to #1

still br0ken...… and the number one Drum & Bass album is [drumroll] ‘Rotting Pinata‘. ;)

Not only is the index still broken after 4 months, but this album has moved to number 1.
How is this possible? I suspect tom-foolery and stupidity:

  • 1. Do they boost albums from a particular artist or record label? Similar to e-Bay content padding. I’m sure EMI is going to sell more records this year then Breakbeat Science.
  • 2. Did they just put the album in the wrong category? Compared to 90’s grunge – the album sucks, but those surveyed would rather hear it then techno.
  • 3. Are any poor saps who want to have teh coolest Drum & Bass collection buying this album without reading the liner notes? Yikes.
  • Has anyone else come across any strange amazon anomalies? Hit the comments.
I guess I’ll just keep getting my suggestions from bassdrive.

    Truckosauris, parking lot destroyer.

    Beware!

Take one oversized truck, add in a 27″ lift and knobby tires. Now go get a latte.
I feel bad that 98% of these trucks will never be used off road. Sure, sometimes my cooky rallycar gets spotted running errands. But she’s seen more dirts roads then this baby will ever see.

Why not buy more gas, make more road noise, shop with the kids, and only drive to work.

How to turn off ghost in GT4.

‘Ghost’, or ‘ghost mode’ in GranTurismo 4 (GT4) is a semi-transparent copy of your fastest run around that particular track. It’s designed to let you see your fastest pace around the track while you drive. You can even load other peoples ‘ghost save’ to pace (or outpace) them through the course.

I’m no doubt sure it’s useful, but I can’t stand it. Semi-transparent or not, it’s another car on the track. No matter how many times I’ve tried to convince myself that I can drive right through it, my brain sees it as ‘another car on the track’ and will try to avoid it. So instead of matching my fastest line through the corner, I late apex without thinking so I can dodge the invisible car on the inside.

There used to be a setting that would turn this feature off. After a few hours of searching (It’s not in the manual, or in ‘Settings’.) I found it: Press UP on the Digital pad while driving. The blue dot on the map will go away along with the problems found with racing against yourself.
